About Adam Tebrugge

Adam Tebrugge graduated New College of Florida in 1982 and the Florida State University College of Law with high honors in 1984. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1985 and spent 23 years at the Public Defender’s Office where worked as the lead homicide attorney from 1990-2008, trying more than 100 cases. Attorney Tebrugge became a Board Certified Criminal Trial attorney in 1999, a distinction held by less than 1% of all attorneys in Florida.

A fierce client advocate, Adam Tebrugge served on the Death Penalty Steering Committee of the Florida Public Defender Association for over a decade. He helped organize and conduct the annual “Life Over Death” training seminar, a qualifying course for attorneys wishing to handle death penalty cases in Florida. He is the author of “A Primer for Handling Capital Cases in the State of Florida,” a handbook which was updated and presented to attorneys handling capital cases each year from 1995-2007.

Adam Tebrugge has hosted and co-produced the television show “Law and Sarasota” which has been aired on The Education Channel in Sarasota County since 2005. He serves as an adjunct professor at the Thomas Cooley Law School, where he teaches “Death Penalty Seminar.”
